How Does Referred Memberships Actually Work On Medium? (and a step by step guide on how to get started with it)
Medium, recently introduced a new way for writers to get direct support from their readers. But how does it actually work? Are you even eligible? In this article you will discover what it is all about and how can you get started with it.
Until recently, there was only one main way to monetize your content on medium. I am saying one “main” way because when you write an article online, depending on the other contents you have, there can be multiple ways you can monetize your articles. The main way of getting monetized on Medium is by getting a share of the membership fees based on the member reading time. One thing you should know about earning money on Medium is that you do not get paid based on every read on your articles, but you get paid based on member read times. Which means that your article can rank on the first page of Google, but if only 1% of the readers are paid Medium members, you will get paid a portion of those membership fees based on that 1% who are actually paying a monthly or an annual membership fee. This is the main way Medium pays you if you are in the Medium Partner Program.
